Where is all the snow?

We’ve had very little snowfall out here this winter which has been a bit disappointing. Steph came out to visit last week and Megan and her hit up the slopes for some skiing. It sounded like it was fun. We are supposed to be getting some more snow on Saturday and then the days following. Maybe I’ll finally get up to the mountains for some skiing.

In the meantime there is enough snow in the mountains to start doing a little snowshoeing. Steph and another friend of mine hit up Lamb’s Canyon for a snowshoeing trek up to Mt. Aire. We didn’t make it to the top of the mountain, but we found a better looking one nearby and decided to climb to the top of it. The pics at left are from that excursion. Megan and I went on another snowshoeing expedition this week with one of my friends with the goal being Mt. Aire again. We were going to hit it from Mill Creek Canyon, which is on the other side of the mountain. We fell short again. My friend’s dog came with us and ended up getting a cut on her foot which ended our trip when we were near the top. We’ll make it for sure the next time. We’ll just wait for more snow.
